Day1: Endh Adisheyam
(The miraculous love)
There’s this place in the United States called the Yellow Stone National Park – and people from all over the world come to see it. Man – it’s truly stunning! So once this non-American girl happened to visit as a tourist and was absolutely wonderstruck at the ash-grey petrified trees, at the blue-green liquid bubbling under the wooden path, at the hot springs that gushed out from the ground below, and at the whole vastness of the place. Then, towards the end of the entire day’s tour, when the authorities were waving at the few remaining tourists to step out, this girl and her gang were at the far end. Just as they began moving towards the exit, this girl paused to have a last look behind her as the others walked away. What she saw took her breath away! The sky had changed its color from bright orange to a gorgeous hue of purple-pink; faint lights shone from shimmering stars above, the blue-green liquid glowed below, the trees stood in the distance, silent and still in the descending darkness and the sounds of the jungle-wolf and coyotes howled in this time that almost seemed like the first dusk of humankind! Overwhelmed at the unbelievable beauty of the moment, she glanced up towards heaven in pure astonishment and wonder and let out the breath she had been holding, mouthing a silent “Wow!” “Wow, God… this is just… wow!” Then, just that instant, she felt an invisible finger touch the tip of her nose as she heard – “No…Not that… - YOU!”

It struck home then. What the girl felt at that moment is what God feels when He looks at His handy work – YOU. The prime and the pride of all His creation! She had heard and read about the love of God, but it was nothing compared to the wave of pure love that just washed over her that moment. The songwriter, P.V Thommy, knew what this felt like! A simple man, who endured extreme poverty and much hardship – but was so totally captivated by the love of God that nothing seemed an issue-enough! All he wanted to do was to tell the world about this love. The lines – “Enth adhisheyame daivathin sneham, ethra manoharame” translated as “What a miracle is God’s love, How absolutely wonderful it is…” shows off his heart!

It can almost seem like insanity if you try to analyze from a scientific perspective! Nothing seems cool-enough, big-enough, wow-enough, terrible-enough, problem-enough anymore before this massive, marvellous-waterfall kinda love! Like nothing. To get us back to Himself – God did the unthinkable! Paid the price with his son’s blood. And if you really, like actually consider it - you’d wonder – But… Why God? What was the big deal?

Man... that’s really his cue to say – YOU. You are the big deal!

Prayer:
Jesus, your love has captured my heart today! I’m grateful that my life is in your hands and that I am a masterpiece created in your likeness. Help me to understand the depths of your love more and more each day, so I could love others the way you love me. Thank you for giving your life and paying for all my sins that I could experience eternity one day. I give my life into your hands today. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
